Time flies! A belated welcome to our CAP stage, Ian Maule, who has been with us since September!
The meeting is to be held at 7:30 pm at Resort to Work, at the back of 721 Riverside in Wakefield.
It’s time to show your support. The future of the Wakefield-La Pêche Community Centre project will be determined on Sept. 5. Your voice and your presence are needed to make the Community Centre a reality. Voice your support by filling in the online form.
Show your support by coming to the Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the La Pêche Arena (Salle Desjardins) in Ste-Cécile-de Masham at 7:00 pm.
Yeasterday was a little busy as I was drafted on to the WUF Evaluation Team but I was back on the CIEL beat today.
GO off to the CIEL@WUFBlog for daily updates.
Louise Mailloux and David Nobbs (not their two wandering mutant black Labs Liam & Nina) are off to the World Urban Forum (WUF) along with thousands of big City planning folks from around the globe.
Louise will be helping evaluate the third UN Habitat conference (first one was in Vancouver in 1976 and put that city on the urban planning map) for Goss Gilroy, while David will attend session and blog it for CIEL, the developers of the Community Vitality Initiative.
Here is the official UN Habitat WUF site but the Conference will be blogged up-to-the minute by its Commissioner General Charles Kelly.
A more humble (and dogless) CIEL-RtW blog will be posted tomorrow … and daily starting next Monday when the Conference starts.
Many thanks to the 35 hardy Wakefielders that braved the sweltering heat (to go with the frigid conditons of Feb. 28 Assessment Meeting) to review the Assessment Results and undertake several initiaitives to make our community even more vital and inclusive.
For pictures, videoclips and the CVI Final Report detailing the outcomes as they emerge from the Working Groups in the coming days and weeks go to the CVI section on the Wakefield Ensemble site.
The Community Vitality Initiative Assessment Meeting for Wakefield will be February 28. Wakefield Ensemble is the Community Sponsor. If you are interested in participating, you may do so by completing the Assessment Survey online at www.theCIEL.com between March 1 and March 10.
An on-line video of the Feb. 28 Presentation and CAP Interns are available to help orient community members to the CVI project and the on-line tools. Contact Timmie Dohn or David Nobbs at 459-1600 to arrange an appointment at the Community Access Project site at Resort to Work, 721 Riverside Dr., Wakefield.
Resort to Work will have a table alongside Virtu-elles, Quickskils and RISC at the annual CLD Networking Event December 7.
Thanks to RISC and RtW, the entire hall will have wireless Internet for the 38 attendees.
Well there is no rest for the wicked … CIDA moved up the Africa trip – Ghana, Malawi and Tanzania – to December from January. So after less than two weeks at home … My Broad is Abroad … again.
